The Mercato Centrale Area is one of the most historically important Florence’s areas. The whole area, one of the richest in terms of arts, architecture and commerce, was completely renewed at the end of the XIXth century, when Florence was Italy’s Capitol City. During its life, the Mercato Centrale area was improved many times; one of the most important architects who worked on it was Giuseppe Mengoni, who used materials that were particularly innovative by that time. He managed in the hard mission to entertwine such innovative materials in a very old and historically valued area.
